Comedy Duo Cancels Tour, but Black Says They'll Be Back
Actor Jack Black has weighed in on the future of Tenacious D after his bandmate Kyle Gass made a controversial remark about the assassination of President Donald Trump. In an interview with Variety on Tuesday, Black said that the comedy duo will be back despite cancelling the remainder of their world tour in July.
The cancellation came after Gass joked during a concert in Anaheim, California, that he would "shoot" Trump if he was president. The remark drew widespread condemnation, and Black subsequently announced that the band would be postponing the rest of their tour dates.
In the Variety interview, Black said that he and Gass had "talked about it a lot" since the incident and that they were "committed to moving forward" as a band. He also said that they were "looking at different options" for how to do that, but that they did not want to "rush into anything."
"We're not going to let this define us," Black said. "We're going to come back stronger than ever."
