Josh Hartnett Knows Trap Director M. Night Shyamalan's Daughter Better Than Him

1w 2 min read

As Ishana Night Shyamalan's debut horror movie The Watched nears its September release, the spotlight momentarily shifts from her father M. Night Shyamalan. Meanwhile, Josh Hartnett divulged on a podcast that he once helped the young filmmaker out of a tight spot.

'A Lot More Than Just a Phone Call'

WEB"It was a lot more than just a phone call. It was a literal trap," Hartnett said jokingly on The Big Ticket podcast last month. "I got a text, 'Hey, I need some help. Can you give me a call?' And I was like, 'I don't know about that anymore. I feel like when girls ask for help, they just want to talk about something for an hour and 45 minutes.'"

Hartnett continued, "But she was like, 'No, I'm in the bathroom at a restaurant. I can't get out. Can you come and help me?' So I had to go and rescue her. I think it was at the Chateau Marmont. A guy was stopping her from leaving. So I had to go be the big hero and get her out of there. And then I walked her to her car and we chatted for a while and it was very sweet."

Hartnett and Ishana have remained friends since then, and he even gave her some advice on filmmaking. "She's a really talented filmmaker," he said. "She's got a great eye for detail and she's not afraid to take risks."

Conclusion

Ishana Shyamalan is clearly following in her father's footsteps, and with the release of The Watched, she's sure to make a name for herself in the horror genre. It's great to see that she has friends like Josh Hartnett in her corner, who are willing to help her out when she needs it. We can't wait to see what she does next.
