Jamaican Bobsled Team Returns to Olympics

A New Song for a New Era

To celebrate the Jamaican bobsled team's return to the Olympics, the country's tourism agency has released an original song, "It's Bobsled Time." The song is inspired by the short verse tune from the 1993 film "Cool Runnings," which tells the story of the Jamaican bobsled team's first Olympic appearance. The new song features the lyrics "Some people say they can't believe Jamaica, we have a bobsled team," and "Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, after a 24-year absence, Cool Runnings is back at the Olympics."

A Return to Glory

After a 12-year hiatus, the Jamaican bobsled team is back at the Winter Olympics. The team failed to qualify for the 2014 and 2018 Games, but they made a triumphant return in 2022. The team finished in 24th place, but their performance was a major victory for Jamaica and for the sport of bobsledding.
