The Men's 400m event at the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from August 1st to 11th.

Qualifying Standards
Athletes must achieve the following qualifying standards to compete in the Men's 400m event:
- 44.90 seconds (entry standard)
- 45.30 seconds (area qualification standard)
Competition Format
The Men's 400m event will consist of the following rounds:
- Heats (August 1)
- Semi-finals (August 9)
- Final (August 11)
Heats
Athletes will be divided into eight heats of approximately eight athletes each. The top two finishers in each heat will automatically advance to the semi-finals.
Semi-finals
The 16 athletes who advance from the heats will be divided into two semi-finals of eight athletes each. The top two finishers in each semi-final will automatically advance to the final.
Final
The eight athletes who advance from the semi-finals will compete in the final. The athlete with the fastest time will win the gold medal.
